The Reality of Booking Dancers in the UK
You need professional dance entertainment for your event — but navigating agencies, unclear pricing, and unreliable talent directories costs you time, money, and stress.
Agency fees eat your budget
Traditional entertainment agencies charge 15–30% on top of the performer's fee. That money comes straight out of your budget and goes to a middleman — not the act you're actually booking.
No transparency on pricing
Generic talent directories rarely show upfront pricing. You fill in a contact form, wait days for a response, and receive a quote that's either too vague or far over budget with no explanation.
Hours spent searching and vetting
Finding the right dance style, checking showreels, verifying insurance, confirming availability — without the right platform, booking dance entertainment for an event can take weeks.
No payment records
Paying a performer upfront without any protection leaves you exposed if they cancel. Paying after risks the performer going unpaid. Most booking methods offer no secure middle ground.

How to Hire Professional Dancers in the UK
The UK entertainment industry is home to professional dance acts — commercial dancers, contemporary artists, Latin and ballroom specialists, aerial performers, fire acts, and everything in between. But finding, vetting, and booking the right act for your event has traditionally meant going through an agency, paying a significant commission, and waiting days for a quote.
AnyGig changes that. We connect hirers directly with professional dance performers across the UK — giving you access to full profiles, showreels, pricing, and availability in real time. No traditional agency commission. No waiting for callbacks. No opaque pricing structures.
AnyGig is a UK entertainment booking platform purpose-built for the live performance industry. Event planners and hirers post a brief for free and receive direct applications from professional dance acts — commercial dancers, contemporary artists, Latin and ballroom specialists, aerial performers, fire acts, and walkabout entertainers. Every booking on AnyGig includes a contract generated automatically at the point of confirmation, verified public liability insurance displayed on every performer profile, and payment held securely through Stripe until 24 hours after the event. There are no agency fees. Performers receive 100% of their quoted fee. The hirer pays a 5% service fee on the booking total, only when a booking is confirmed through the platform.
What to Look for When Booking a Dance Act
Before making a booking, check that your performer has Public Liability Insurance (PLI) — this is essential for any public or private event and is a requirement of most venues. AnyGig shows PLI verification status on every performer profile. Also check whether a DBS check is required for your event, particularly if children will be present.
Hiring Dancers for Corporate Events
Corporate event entertainment has different requirements to professionally organised events or festivals. You need professional conduct, punctuality, proper contracts, and formal invoicing. AnyGig performers operating at a corporate level understand these requirements and can provide everything a company's event team or procurement department needs.
Hiring Dancers for Weddings
First dance coaching: Many couples want professional help choreographing and rehearsing their first dance. AnyGig has experienced wedding dance coaches available across the UK.
Reception entertainment: Flash mob-style surprise performances, Latin show dances, and contemporary pieces are increasingly popular at wedding receptions. Search by style, location, and budget to find the right act.
Evening show acts: Themed dance shows, burlesque cabaret, and high-energy commercial dance acts can transform evening wedding entertainment. Use AnyGig's payment records to secure your booking months in advance.
Hiring Dancers for Festivals and Outdoor Events
Fire dancers, aerial performers, walkabout entertainers, and street dance acts are all popular choices for festivals and large outdoor events. When hiring multiple acts, post a gig on AnyGig and receive applications from relevant performers — saving you hours of individual outreach.
Browse specific categories: hire dancers for film and TV, hire dancers for Christmas parties, or post a casting call to reach performers directly. AnyGig is also a complete entertainment booking system for managing all your event bookings in one place.
